Launch of Games and Networking Event 2017-10-26

The Hong Kong Mobile Games Start-up Support Program held a ceremony on 26 September 2017 to launch the original mobile games produced under the Support Program and a concurrent Networking Event for the participating companies of the Support Program to network with their potential business partners.

The Support Program is organized by the Hong Kong Game Industry Association and sponsored by Create Hong Kong (CreateHK) of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region to nurture local game start-ups.

The ceremony on 26 September 2017 invited industry personnel to experience playing the 10 mobile games produced by local game start-ups under the Support Program, and to promote these start-ups with a view to facilitating them to explore more business opportunities. The attendees included venture capitalists, game distributors and developers, IT service providers, representatives of advertising companies, and other digital entertainment industry professionals, such as audio production and interactive design companies’ representatives, etc. They experienced playing the prototype of the original mobile games and gave valuable advices to the start-ups for the latter to strengthen their original mobile games for a better opportunity to enter into the market.

The organiser is honoured to have Ms. Fiona Lam, Acting Head of CreateHK, and Mr. Sze Yan Ngai, Chairman of the Hong Kong Game Industry Association (HKGIA), as officiating guests of the ceremony.

Ms. Fiona Lam thanked the HKGIA for organizing the Support Program and wished the original mobile games launched at the ceremony every success when they are officially launched in the market later.

Mr. Sze Yan Ngai, Chairman of the HKGIA, said that the Support Program could help increase the number of original games developed by Hong Kong companies in the market and enhance the local game development capability. The results of the Support Program reflect that local games could be international and diversified, and the Support Program could encourage the  local game start-ups to be more multi-directional when developing their original games.

The original mobile games that were launched at the ceremony are Sorcerer, Hero Smash, Working Hero of Martial Arts, Adventurer, Norns Fantasy, Ankaa, Attack On Moe 2, Scrolls of Heroes: REV, Goblin King and Internal Affairs (ranking in no particular order).
